four decades.Art Transportation SupervisorThis position is
responsible for ensuring the safe handling of artworks for
packing/crating, storage, in transit and during onsite projects at
our client locations. This position will also provide expertise,
leadership and guidance during projects while acting as liaison
between clients and the business. In addition to physical
requirements, this role also provides leadership and guidance in
the day to day activities of the art handling and transportation
team, assists with skills development, and ensures the safety of
all team members whether on-site or in
transit.RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Planning upcoming transportation runs and field services
maximizing the efficiency of truck and crew.
- Work with the business specific to customer consultations,
booking availability problem solving, and ensuring positive
execution of services.
- Assessing Art Handling and Transportation crew for training and
development opportunities, performance, and changes in department
needs.
- Monitor time cards, approving payroll, time off requests,
procurement requests, and expense reports.
- Ensuring safety policy and standards are in place for all
planning and execution of projects.
- Assisting other departments and teams, as needed, and/or
directed by the Local Leadership.QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3-5 years of strong logistics background.
- Experience in Fine Art Logistics, Specialty Art Handling and
Packing preferred, but not necessary.
- Understanding of Logistic Industry 'White Glove' handling
processes, including packing, handling, and storage practices.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, making quick
and efficient decisions to resolve issues, dilemmas, and potential
disruptions in daily activities.
- Clear and concise communication with clients and effectively
provide instructions to coworkers.
- Detail oriented: thorough, organized, accurate and productive
in work.
- Must be a team player, with the ability to lead. Additionally,
must be self-motivated and able to work well under pressure.
- Lift and move heavy objects (in excess of 75 lbs), bend, kneel,
crouch, stand.DRIVER QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to safely operate 26-ft box truck, at minimum.
- Valid driver's license.
- Clean/Clear driving record with ability to pass all driving
checks.
- CDL license not required but preferred.
- Travel: Local = 95% Overnight = 5%.WHAT WE OFFER:
