Volt is immediately hiring for Precision I.D./O.D Grinder-Operator & Setup for Machine Shop in Burbank, CA! Move Forward with Volt As a Precision I.D./O.D Grinder-Operator & Setup for Machine Shop, you will:Maintain a clean and safe work area.Report all unsafe acts or conditions, and injuries, to your supervisor immediately.Set up and operate CNC and/or manual grinding machines to machine metallic work pieces according to blueprint specifications, tooling instructions, and route sheet traveler.Read and interpret engineering specifications and shop orders to determine machine setup, production methods, and sequence of operation.Apply knowledge of grinding/machining methods: Read blueprints and route sheet travelers for product specifications, such as dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instructions, such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut, and determine sequence of operations.Review Job Traveler to analyze all required steps to ensure all production procedures are followed.Move controls and position tool and workpiece in relation to each other for necessary grinding.Inspect workpiece and verify conformance to specifications using measuring instruments, such as fixed gauges, calipers, and micrometers.This is a full-time opportunity 1st Shift Opportunity Pay Rate: $26.00 - $40.00/hr The ideal candidate will have:Ability to operate heavy machinery and have strong attention to detail.High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and at least 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, good manufacturing practices, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of an organization.Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions.Ability to deal with a variety of problems that may arise.
