Job Description:
Director, Employee Engagement Communications The Director,
Employee Engagement Communications is responsible for developing
and executing the internal communications and employee engagement
strategy for ResMed. This role will create innovative, inspiring,
and motivating communications programs that inform and engage
ResMedians across all levels of the organization. This pivotal role
involves supporting change management initiatives and ensuring
effective communication channels reach all employees, from
executives to manufacturing line staff. You will navigate diverse
work environments, catering to in-office, remote, and
non-device-equipped employees, fostering a cohesive and informed
organizational culture. Your work will ensure employees feel
connected and motivated and understand how their role supports
ResMed's goals, priorities, and strategy. This position requires a
high degree of sensitivity to diverse audiences and will include
someone who can develop strategy, do the work, and manage a
team.Key Responsibilities
- Employee Engagement: Develop and lead global employee
engagement strategies that drive a unified and inclusive culture
across diverse, distributed teams (on-site, remote, hybrid, global)
and ensure employees understand the company's direction, strategy,
and business objectives.
- Change Management: Collaborate with leadership and the People
team to support change management initiatives through clear,
timely, and engaging communications.
- Audience Segmentation: Tailor communication strategies and
messages to effectively reach diverse employee groups, including
executives, office-based employees, remote workers, and those
without access to devices.
- Channel Management: Own the digital engagement strategy,
ensuring effective use of communication platforms (intranet,
collaboration tools) to keep employees connected and informed,
regardless of their location and work setup. Identify and utilize
other appropriate communication channels, such as leader toolkits,
newsletters, town halls, and face-to-face meetings, to ensure
information reaches all employees effectively.
- Partnership with HR and other internal businesses: Work closely
with the HR team to integrate employee engagement initiatives with
talent development, diversity and inclusion efforts, and overall
employee well-being programs. Work with the strategy, product,
revenue and CEO leadership team to enhance employee
engagement.
- Content Creation and Management: Oversee the creation,
curation, and distribution of internal communications content,
ensuring consistency in messaging and alignment with organizational
goals.
- Data-Driven Insights: Utilize employee feedback, surveys, and
analytics to assess engagement levels and identify opportunities
for improvement. Translate data into actionable insights that
inform engagement strategies.
- Leadership Engagement: Partner with executive leadership and
managers to foster an environment that supports open communication
and collaboration, providing tools and resources to enable them to
champion employee engagement within their teams.
- Crisis Communication: Support crisis communication activities
to ensure timely and accurate information dissemination during
critical incidents.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends and
best practices in internal communications, employee engagement and
change management, applying insights to continuously enhance
ResMed's internal communication strategies.
- Writing: Develop content for executives and other internal
communication materials.
- Influence: Advocate for the importance of internal
communications, and change management communications, influencing
leaders and stakeholders to support ResMed's internal
communications efforts.
- Team Leadership: Effectively lead, manage, and inspire a
high-performing team of communicators.
- Lead and Manage Distribution Lists: Ensure ResMed has an
effective system for quickly developing distribution lists for
communications.
- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI): Collaborate with the
DEI team to embed inclusive practices into all engagement
activities, fostering a workplace where everyone feels valued and
heard.Required Skills
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public
Relations, Journalism, Business Administration, or a related
field.
- 10+ years of experience in internal communications, corporate
communications, or related fields.
- Proven experience developing and implementing digital (Teams,
Yammer, Slack, etc.) and global internal communications strategies,
preferably in a large multinational organization.
- Offline Engagement: Ability to develop innovative ways to
connect non-connected employees (such as on-site workers) and
integrate them into the broader digital culture and engagement
initiatives.
- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI): Experience
collaborating with DEIs team to embed inclusive practices into all
engagement activities, fostering a workplace where everyone feels
valued and heard.
- Experience in change management communications, supporting
organizational initiatives and driving employee engagement.
- Demonstrated experience managing a team of communicators,
fostering a collaborative work environment while, at the same time,
doing the work.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the
ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely, and
support executive communications.
- Ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all
levels of the organization, including executives.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop innovative
communications programs that align with business objectives.
- Proficiency in managing multiple projects simultaneously in a
fast-paced environment, with keen attention to detail and
deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills to measure and evaluate the
effectiveness of communications initiatives, using data to drive
decisions.
- Crisis communication experience, handling sensitive issues with
discretion and transparency.
- High level of cultural sensitivity and ability to adapt
communications strategies for diverse global audiences.
- Creative and forward-thinking, with a passion for continuous
improvement and staying updated on industry trends.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, evolving organization and
effectively manage ambiguity.
- Strong ethical standards and commitment to upholding corporate
values and integrity in communications.Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in related area; Accreditation in Public
Relations (APR)
- Communications experience working in healthcare, healthcare
technology, medical devices, or technology industries.We are

members.Individual pay decisions are based on a variety of factors,
such as the candidate's geographic work location, relevant
qualifications, work experience, and skills. A reasonable estimate
of the current base range for this position is: $187,000 - $235,000
