Job Description
Position Summary: Directs and leads efforts to achieve the goals and objectives of the Implementations Team, including budget, productivity, and transaction quality. Promotes and aligns the business unit with the overall vision and strategies of the enterprise. Responsible for leading strategy development and managing the operation of the business unit(s) ensuring adherence to proven best practices, development of staff through the career path process, alignment and support of the sales process including responding to RFPs, and achievement of performance standards and client performance guarantees. Serves as a key interdepartmental liaison to assure open communication and collaboration with client teams, client shared services, and enterprise support staff. Champions service excellence and builds internal partnerships that optimize service capabilities for our customers. Relies upon extensive knowledge of healthcare operations concepts, practices and procedures. A wide degree of independence, latitude and creativity is expected.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:


  • Directs and oversees the implementation of all new health plans by working with the appropriate Sales Director, Implementation Manager, and the core account team to ensure all facets of the plan implementation are completed accurately and timely.
  • Provides strategic direction for all new Client Implementations using project management methodology.
  • Attend all Train for Success meetings and work closely within MedImpact's shared services to stay abreast of all technical and operational knowledge.
  • Determine staff needs for access to information sources, equipment, software and communication systems.
  • Facilitate weekly implementation team meetings; shares best practices with staff and is accountable for all aspects of Implementation process throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Oversees day-to-day Implementation activities and continually develops and monitors the implementation performance goals with staff.
  • Participates in annual readiness meetings and provide updates to the organization regarding status of all new client implementations managed by the implementation team.
  • Schedules and leads daily Command Center meetings as part of the deployment phase of the implementation project cycle.
  • At the close of the annual implementation cycle, coordinates and leads an annual Business Process Improvement across the organization.
  • Collaborates with the Vice President of Client Experience to develop the overall strategy for the Implementation team.
  • Develop and maintain implementation questionnaires including feasible implementation timelines by line of business.
  • Travel with sales team for finalist presentations and with Implementation Manager for kick-off meetings.
  • Partner with the sales team and proactively monitor the sales pipeline reports.
  • Work closely with Contracts, Underwriting, Account Management, and Sales.
  • Provide direct client support at a senior level and serve as a point of escalation for issue resolution.
  • Maintain development, measurement and maintenance of Implementation department yearly goals and objectives.

    Supervisory Responsibilities
    Manages assigned staff in the segment area. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the unit.
    Qualifications
    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

    • Master's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience and at least ten (10) years related experience in a healthcare or PBM environment.
    • Requires a seasoned people leader with at least eight (8) years of experience in managing employees.
    • Project management experience essential.
    • Intermediate to advanced skill set in MS Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Outlook.
    • Experience utilizing SmartSheet is desired.

      Other Skills and Abilities

      • Superior knowledge and understanding of PBM operations, customer service and implementations.
      • Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication and group presentation skills.

        Work Location
        Designated on-site location or remote office depending on business needs.
        Working Hours
        This is an exempt level position requiring one to work the hours needed to get the job done.
        Travel
        This position requires domestic travel of up to 25% of the time.
